A very good group of Sealed Potters. Good luck to everyone :-)
ReplyDeleteSue xx
Absolutely. Good luck everyone!
DeleteSft x
I thought I told you but I will be doing a short term challenge. In March I am doing a very short two sail from Brisbane to Sydney on The Queen Mary 2. I intend to not be short of money for that one.
ReplyDeleteThen I will start again for Christmas 2013.
Yes, you did tell me! Sorry Suze! And that is a very exciting goal.
DeleteSft x
Good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteI'm 'making' my new pot today. I'll share when it's done :)
Looking forward to seeing it Laura!
DeleteSft x
I'm using the same pot again this year, well it's big enough to encourage us to save lots and lots.
ReplyDeleteNot sure of the coinage yet, possibly it would be too confusing trying to save 'new to the house' £2 coins and obviously if I'm shopping with £2 coins I won't be getting them in my change so maybe this will be the year of the coppers and 5p's instead......must think about this one!!
Well done to everyone who opened their Sealed Pots yesterday, I've been trying to leave comments while working on the laptop in the warmth of the kitchen but although they appear on Blogs while I'm there they seem to disappear the minute I click off.
So a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sft for yesterday if that comment didn't stick either. I hope you had a wonderful day.
Sue xx
Your pot is huge but if anyone can fill it, it will be you two!
DeleteLet's hope you get lots of copper and 5ps in your change.
Sorry to hear your comments are disappearing. So frustrating.
Thanks for your belated birthday wishes.
Sft x
I looked about, poked around, and realized I'd tossed 99% of my containers day before yesterday when I did an "My parents are coming over!" clean out. (Cough.) I did find a marge tub and converted it with some duct tape and put in my first load of change.
ReplyDeletePicture can be found at : http://rabbitsandfuzz.blogspot.ca/2012/12/a-challenge-saving-money.html
My goal is a trip to visit the boyfriend in Omaha. If we break up (hopefully not!), or the trip become irrelivent, I'll uh.. come up with a plan b. :)
This is a grand idea and I'm glad of the support! I'm the world's worst saver!
So glad you found a pot for the challenge...and congrats on putting in your first load of change.
DeleteI'll have a look at the picture.
I'll add your name and goal to the list Lorna!
And do stay around so we can support you.
Sft x
This year we are saving up for a camera and a trip to the seaside.
ReplyDeleteOur sealed pot is not decorated yet but soon as it is I will put it on my blog. The camera is for one of the boys.
Those are lovely goals Cathy! I'm sure you will love the seaside.
DeleteAnd lucky boys-to get a camera.
Sft x
Oooo! Can I join in? I think perhaps I should empty the purse of loose change every Sunday night. I have besties hen do coming up in 2014, so I shall be saving for that perhaps! Next job - find a container!
ReplyDeleteOf course you can join in Penny Wise! I'll add you to the list.
DeleteSounds like a good plan-emptying that purse every Sunday.
Hope you find a container soon and start saving!
Sft x
I'm not on there :( please let me join! sf x
ReplyDeleteOh Nic, you were there, I don't know what happened.
DeleteI've added you back on the list. What is your goal?
Sft x
Well done to everyone, you've all saved loads. It would be interesting to work out the grand total of everyone's savings. Good luck for 2013.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can tell you worked in a bank once! :)
DeleteEveryone seems really pleased with their totals.
And I'm sure they will do brilliantly in 2013 too.
Sft x
Must post my sealed pot pics today.
ReplyDeleteJane x
I'll be looking out for it Jane!
DeleteSft x
I have an admission! My lovely hubby bought me a food mixer for my birthday, so I am going to have to re-think my aim, but I have already started my pot! xxx
ReplyDeleteI need to find a pot!! Eek!!! Glad to take part though - brilliant idea for the mutual support. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, we'll be supporting each other all the way!
DeleteHope you find your pot soon.
Sft x
I have my pot, on my blog here. About as practical a shape as I'd expect of myself. :-D Still to decide on the end purpose though. Good luck to all!! x
DeleteI love the shape.
DeleteLet me know your goal when you are ready.
Sft x
We shall have ours ready later, but it looks a bit sparse...
ReplyDeleteThere is money in already, we've decided to put in dosh every time we decide to save instead of spend - we didn't go for a coffee in between jobs!
K&S :)
Looking forward to seeing it Kay!
DeleteAnd I love your save instead of spend idea.
Sft x
In my new post today, I reported a total of $155.35 saved in 2012,(after the occasional dipping in). That amount is going back in to the pot, (sealed tighter this time) adding to it throughout 2013. What to do with it is yet to be decided. Please add my name to your list.
ReplyDeletePatrica.
I've added your name. You did so well Patrica, especially with the dipping in.
DeleteLet me know when you've decided on the goal.
Sft x
I like your sealed pot and I am also thrilled that 58 people have signed up for your challenge to date.
ReplyDeleteI am not spending this years money and will continue adding to it next year as most of the furniture I fancy these days has three zero's included on the price tag. LOL I think my pot will be filling for several years!
Sx
Oh, my sealed pot is nothing fancy!
DeleteWe're now up to 60 challengers. Which is fantastic!
Lots of people have decided to continue to add to their pots.
Saving up for that bigger treat.
Sft x
I will definitely do it again, not sure what my goal is just yet...and will be recycling my 3 week old sealed pot ;) I like the way yours has a "visualisation" of your goal though :) When I know mine, I will do something similar but I guess there is plenty of time for that, hehe!
ReplyDeleteYes, visualisation is key for us! See the dream so to speak.
DeleteI'll add you to the list.
And let me know your goal when you're ready.
Sft x
put me down for a weekend away on my 50th birthday in March 2014...
ReplyDeleteGill in Canada
Of course Gill!
DeleteSft x
Could you please put my name on your list for the sealed pot challenge 2013. I would like to save for a getaway with Hubby.
ReplyDeleteI will add you and your goal to the list bonsaimum!
DeleteSft x
Thank you. :)
DeleteI just joined, and, although I'm one day late, am joining the challenge! I will post a photo of my pot once I have it created. I will be saving toward paying off the debt I incurred when I was out of work for a year (four years ago), with minimal income and high rent. I am out of work again, but working toward opening an online shop, as I am past retirement age and work prospects are few, or at least, they are few if one wants to pay rent and still eat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to save up! I have seen this done with a 48 oz. tomato juice tin, where a SIL saved loonies ($1.00 Cdn coins) toward a trip to see us. They had it nearly half full and as I recall, it was several hundred dollars!! Don't know why I didn't start this on my own, and sooner, but better late than never! Thanks again. ~ Linne
Hi Linne
DeleteI will add you to the list and your goal. I hope you do really well.
Sft x
Hey SFT, your list on the left has error.. it should be:
ReplyDelete2013 SEALED POT CHALLENGERS-OPENING 3RD DECEMBER 2013, not 2012..
My pot now is temporary a metal cookie tin.. Still looking for cardboard box to build my pot!
Thanks Priscilla.
DeleteI will change that.
Hope to hear about your cookie tin on Sunday.
Sft x
Can I still join, or is it too late?
ReplyDeleteNot at all Janine!
DeleteWill be blogging about the first week tomorrow for Sealed Pot Sunday.
Do let me know what your goal is, when you have decided.
Sft x
Hopefully I am slso not too late! I have a 'red robin'moneybox which I will use and all the money will be put towards my 50th party December 2013. As I turned 49 yesterday, I am now in my '50th' year and I am going to spend the year enjoying new experiences and have just set up a blog to record this special year. The party will be to celebrate my big zero & what I hope has been an interesting year.I think the robin prefers £2 coins!!
ReplyDeleteI'll add you to the list Debbie!
DeleteYou sound really determined to have an incredible 50th year! I love your enthusiasm.
May pop over to your blog to read about your new experiences.
I'm sure there will be lots of £2 coins around soon.
Sft x
Can I still join too? I would love to have a little green saved for our Anniversary in November.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! Sounds like a lot of fun.
